20 THE NELSON LEADER, JANUARY 16, 2014 NEWS Nelson’s Hare Krishna community celebrated the Ratha Yatra festival last week, the first time the event has been held in Nelson. Ratha Yatra marks the journey of Lord Jagannatha across India. It is celebrated worldwide besides its spiritual home Puri, a city in eastern India.
