Nelson Leader : September 12th 2013
32 THE NELSON LEADER, SEPTEMBER 12, 2013 Fair funds to help out Tibetan school A charity market held to raise funds for a school in East Tibet was rated a great success by organisers. More than $7000 was raised at the event at Auckland Point School on Sunday -- with some of it to be passed on to the Nelson school. It is the second year the Kagyu Choeyang Ling Centre Trust has held the event. Photographer Virginia Woolf went along. Sweet competition: Brianna Zuidhoek tries to guess the number of lollipops in the jar at the Great Big Charity Market held at Auckland Point School. In the swing: Roberta Severi and Lia and Raf Sirri attend. Smooth ride: Jake Reihana hunts out a bargain snowboard for sale. Snack time: Eli and Zach Darling enjoy their sausage sizzles. Bargain in a jar: Mary Glaisyer, right, sells to Chris Turton a jar of homemade preserved lemons. Play time: Lily and Mia Partington check out the toys. Thanks, team: Organisers Debbie Odering, left, Roz Brownlees, and Val Swatridge.
