Agroup of 30 excited parents and teachers are putting the final touches to a night of fun and laughter in anticipation of Nay- land Primary s annual Parents Revue. The group of fishnet-clad perfor- mers are in their final rehearsals in the lead-up to their fifth show, Class of 69, with performances on Sept- ember 14, 20 and 21. In the revue the volunteer perfor- mers will lip-sync and dance to more than 30 familiar songs for two hours. Nayland Primary School principal Janice Gulbransen said she was very happy to participate in the slightly risque cabaret extravaganza . It s a bit tongue-in-cheek but it is all done in good taste. Nothing is untoward, she said. The principal of five years said the dancing aspect of the show was out- side her comfort zone -- she said she did not have a rhythmic bone in her body. We have very skilled dancers and then there are those of us who try each year and every year we get a little better, she said. The group was very rehearsed, having practised every Tuesday since mid February, she said. I m very excited to see our com- munity working together for our kids and our school. Plus, it s such great fun. Nayland Primary has raised $100,000 through ticket sales over five years of running the annual event and the money made is going towards a multi-purpose learning space. It will be a fantastic space where everyone can gather indoors, whether it be for guest speakers, dance rehearsals or sport-related activities, she said.
