Seats cost $25 and corporate tables range from $1500 to $2500. All profits will go towards new premises for the Victory Boxing Gym. It's been a short week this week. Training on Monday with the rest of the blue corner was a tough as usual but I haven't been able to get much more in as I've had quite a few council commitments. We've been adding quite a bit of skipping to the fitness programme, however, I think I'm proving to be the most unco-ordinated in our corner. The two girls in the blue corner are by far the best skippers. As predicted the Easter weekend has played havoc with my diet and I may have taken a backwards step there. I'm not looking forward to the weigh in.'' Nelson Mayor Aldo Miccio is getting in the ring for a good cause. Along with 25 other Nelson men and women Aldo will be making his boxing debut at a charity fight night being held at the Trafalgar Centre on June 1. The Fight for Victory is being held to raise money for new premises for the Victory Boxing Gym based at the YMCA. Organiser Barry Galbraith said the Toi Toi St gym had been a big success in helping to teach boys and girls core values of respons- ibility, respect, honesty and caring through its Out of School Care and Recreation programmes. In the Mayor's Corner is The Leader's weekly look at how Aldo's training is going.
