Enjoying the outdoors: From left, Tim Savill, Sophie Price, Antonia Mead and Ray Blampied on trombone. About 100 people enjoyed perfect late summer weather at an afternoon concert by Nelson City Brass, at Isel Park last Sunday. Treasurer and executive member David Todd said the concert was the last in a series of three open air concerts per- formed by the band recently. We also played at Gardens of the World and the Honest Law- yer and we have been building up a good following, with some people coming to all of the con- certs.'' David said playing outdoors was completely different from playing inside but they were glad they had been given the opportunity to play to the public in the open air. He said that the band was now busy preparing for a regional contest in Greymouth in May. Its next public perform- ance would be at the Anzac Memorial service in Stoke on April 25.
