Greta Greenwood said the women sold about 100 tickets and the community kindly donated most of what it needed to put on the night. Hirepool loaned them a mar- quee, Westmeats donated meat and PYO at 185 Main Rd Hope provided fresh produce. The women take the food then ‘‘cook up a storm’’. Greta said this year’s banquet supported an Indian sewing project Holi Boli. The cause educated rural women and helped set them up for employment. They served curry this year and Shamels Essential Foods and The Indian Cafe helped with their ingredients and naan breads. Greta said the women behind the event were foodies and ‘‘like to put on a great feast. ‘‘We now have quite a following with guests eager to return each year,’’ Greta says.
